When royalty meets hustle culture

As the trailer of The Royals starts, we meet Aviraaj Singh (Ishaan Khatter), a carefree prince whose trust fund is in crisis. He suggests that they sell their royal palace Moti Bagh to contain the family’s financial problems. That’s where we meet Sophia Shekhar (Bhumi Pednekar), an ambitious and self-made CEO of a luxury homestay startup who has no time or patience for the royals. But fate (and finances) force them to team up. It’s the classic “opposites attract” trope — but with a proper desi twist. This isn’t just a clash of personalities, it’s a full-blown cultural smackdown: old money meets hustle culture, royalty meets startup reality. Sparks fly, egos clash, and somewhere between strategy meetings and royal galas, love (and chaos) ensues. Will Aviraaj and Sophia ever turn their “situationship” into a relationship or will their egos get the best of them?
It’s not just Ishaan and Bhumi who make The Royals trailer fun. The whole setup looks exciting. The palace is grand and old-school, with vintage cars, huge dining rooms, and sprawling gardens. On the other side, Sophia’s world feels modern and busy, with offices, laptops, and a super smart team. The mix of both feels fresh and fun.
The Royals trailer packs in funny banter, showcases Ishaan and Bhumi’s undeniable chemistry, and lets Zeenat Aman steal the show with her sass. And with a cast that includes Milind Soman, Dino Morea, Sakshi Tanwar, Chunky Panday, and Nora Fatehi in pivotal roles, we’re quite excited for this one!
