1. The Freelancer

Created by Neeraj Pandey and directed by Bhav Dhulia, The Freelancer is based on the book titled A Ticket to Syria by Shirish Thorat. The series follows a man who is on an extraction mission to Syria to save a captive young girl. The show is headlined by Mohit Raina and Anupam Kher and also includes Kashmira Pardeshi, Sushant Singh, John Kokken, Manjiri Faddnis, and Sarah Jane Dias.

2. Friday Night Plan

Two bickering brothers secretly unite to attend the hottest party of the year when their mother leaves for a business trip. This coming-of-age comedy-drama is a tribute to cult classics like Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Project X, and Superbad. The movie stars Babil Khan, Aadhya Anand, and Juhi Chawla in the lead.

3. Wheel of Time S2

The second season of the popular Amazon Prime show Wheel of Time is one of the most anticipated releases in September 2023. In the second season, Moiraine will grapple with losing her power, whereas Rand al’Thor is in even more danger since he found out he is the Dragon Reborn. The show will see Rosamund Pike, Daniel Henney, Josha Stradowski, Marcus Rutherford, and Zoe Robins reprising their roles. In addition, Donal Finn, Ceara Coveney, Ayoola Smart, Meera Syal, and Natasha O’Keeffe have also joined the cast. Similar to the first season, this season will also run for eight episodes.

4. Scam 2003: The Telgi Story

After the success of Scam 1992, the makers are back with a brand new biographical financial thriller. Directed by Tushar Hiranandani and co-directed by Hansal Mehta, the show will be based on the 2003 stamp paper counterfeiting committed by Abdul Karim Telgi. Gagan Dev Riar will take on the lead role with Mukesh Tiwari, Sana Amin Sheikh, Bharat Jadhav, and Shaad Randhawa supporting in key roles.

5. Kaisi Yeh Yaariaan S5

Kaisi Yeh Yaariaan is one of the most popular youth shows in the country. The series started off with a couple of seasons on MTV but switched to OTT from season three. The previous season of the show saw a lot of ups and downs in the lives of Manik Malhotra and Nandini Murthy. In season four, Nandini and Manik had broken up due to some miscommunications and misunderstandings, but the duo joined hands to stand against Manik’s mother, Nyonika. Season five will pick up where season four ended. For #MaNan fans, Kaisi Yeh Yaariaan S5 is one of the most anticipated OTT releases in September 2023.

6. Haddi

Haddi is a revenge drama that explores the criminal underbelly of Delhi. The movie stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead as a transperson who joins a gang and swiftly climbs up the criminal food chain. The movie stars Anurag Kashyap in a pivotal role alongside Ila Arun, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Saurabh Sachdeva, and others.

7. Bambai Meri Jaan

Set in post-independence Bombay, Bambai Meri Jaan explores the birth of the underworld in the backdrop of a free country. On the streets riddled with crime, an honest cop tries to protect his family. Created by Rensil D’Silva and Shujaat Saudagar, the series is based on S. Hussain Zaidi’s Lahore Confidential. The series stars Kay Kay Menon, Avinash Tiwary, Kritika Kamra, Nivedita Bhattacharya, and Amyra Dastur.

8. Kaala

T-Series’ first foray into the OTT space, Kaala is directed by Bejoy Nambiar and stars Avinash Tiwary, Rohan Vinod Mehra, Nivetha Pethuraj, Taher Shabbir, and Hiten Tejwani. The series follows an Intelligence Bureau officer as he navigates a case involving powerful criminal masterminds, money, and revenge. This edge-of-the-seat thriller will explore the darkness in human souls in the background of an underbelly of crime.

9. Jaane Jaan

Jaane Jaan is Kareena Kapoor Khan’s OTT debut, written and directed by Sujoy Ghosh. The mystery thriller is an adaptation of Keigo Higashino’s most acclaimed novel, The Devotion of Suspect X. Kareena Kapoor Khan essays the role of a divorced single mother who tries to cover up the murder of her estranged ex-husband, while her neighbour helps her build the perfect alibi. The movie also stars Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma. Since Jaane Jaan is Bebo’s debut in the OTT space, it is one of the most anticipated releases of September 2023.

10. Sex Education S4
