Similar to JioHotstar’s latest release, Salakaar, does Saare Jahan Se Accha deliver or does it lose the plot with too much going on? Read this Saare Jahan Se Accha review to find out.
All that went into sabotaging Pakistan’s nuclear programme
Counter-Intelligence officer Vishnu Shankar (Pratik Gandhi) from RAW gets his hands on intel that Pakistan is planning to make a nuclear facility. Under Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto’s supervision, the country is bringing back its nuclear physicists and planning something big. To uncover the danger this poses to India, Vishnu is sent to Islamabad with his newlywed bride, Mohini (Tillotama Shome). Upon his arrival, he gets a very hostile welcome from ISI and their chief, Murtaza Malik (Sunny Hinduja). Murtaza is not one to take betrayal lightly and has a rather scary reputation.

With his network of people and his trusty colleagues, Vishnu soon discovers that Pakistan is not building a nuclear facility; instead, they are smuggling it. With the people on the inside, including Brigadier Naushad Ahmed of the Pakistan army, will he be successful in stopping this programme?
The leading cast effortlessly steals the show
Saare Jahan Se Accha is a gripping watch, not just because of its tight storyline but also because of its cast. Pratik Gandhi as Vishnu is amazing in his role. One minute, he is an innocent officer, and the next, he is a witty agent who knows how to run the show. Sunny Hinduja as Murtaza is a tough man, but he is not the stereotypical evil maniac we are used to seeing. He has a human side to him and does justice to his character as chief of ISI. Anup Soni as Brigadier Naushad delivers a really fine performance and perfectly fits into the role of a double agent. Suhail Nayyar, another Indian agent, brings an interesting sub-story and is always just an incident away from getting caught. Rajat Kapoor as the RAW chief is brilliant, and his versatile acting is, as always, a delight to watch.
Apart from them, Tillotama Shome as Mohini is subtle, but for an actor of her calibre, her character could have had some more salt to it. Kritika Kamra, too, makes for a great addition to the show and is effortless as ever.
