Homi Adajania’s Murder Mubarak makes the ‘Dilli se hu B*‘ vibes too real for the audience. The movie adaptation of Club You To Death by Anuja Chauhan is a fun rollercoaster with everyone throwing serious shade at each other. But things get out of hand when the gym’s most popular trainer dies while working out on a Sunday morning. From a B-grade actress to a snobby socialite and a penniless Raja Sahab, everyone is a suspect. Check out the review of Murder Mubarak and find out who the real murderer is.
The elites of the Royal Delhi Club have some dirty little secrets
The story is set in one of Delhi’s oldest clubs, originally built to welcome and entertain the British royal family. Since then, every pet owned by the club has been named after royal family members. Naturally, the Royal Delhi Club elites are snooty, gossipy, and live on rumours and scandals. From the snobby socialite Roshni (Tisca Chopra), who has a nose in everyone’s business to the penniless Rannvijay Singh (Sanjay Kapoor), who tips the staff with a ₹20 note, everyone at the club is full of themselves. Soon, the conversation shifts from them and brings the attention to Leo (Aashim Gulati), a flirty and influential trainer who is found dead in the gym. The murder leads to a detailed investigation headed by ACP Bhavani (Pankaj Tripathi) and sub-inspector Padam (Priyank Tiwari).
The duo comes under severe pressure from the authorities and is told to solve the case in ten days. Upon investigation, all they hear are how to make organic cocktails, how to hunt men and their balls, corny Hindi movie dialogues, and stories of botched Botox jobs. So, they have to lean on insiders, Bambi Todi (Sara Ali Khan) and Akash Dogra (Vijay Varma), who are also a part of RDC for the investigation.
What comes next is hilarity and some seriously obscene language because that’s how dilliwalas talk. But do the witty ACP and his muhfatt right hand find out who’s behind Leo’s murder? Is it one of the elites, or did they all plot and execute it together?
Fine performances by a star-studded cast
Murder Mubarak has been one of the most anticipated movies of the month, and a large part of the credit goes to the cast. From playing spoilt brats to always trying to come out on top, the actors have done a fine job of living in the skin of their characters. Sanjay Kapoor’s Rannvijay Singh and Karisma Kapoor’s Shehnaaz Noorani are spiteful and bring great rivalry to the storyline. Tisca Chopra’s Roshni Batra is a socialite who knows everyone’s dirty business, and Dimple Kapadia’s Cookie Katoch is both cuckoo and hilarious. Sara Ali Khan’s Bambi Todi and Vijay Varma’s Akash Dogra bring fun and relatable chemistry. Aashim Gulati’s fun, flirty, and secretive Leo adds a scandalous spin to the tale.
The audience has been excited to see Pankaj Tripathi play a pivotal role in the murder mystery, and his character ACP Bhavani Singh steals the spotlight. Along with him, sub-inspector Padam, played by Priyank Tiwari, is the perfect not-to-mess-with launda, who is effortlessly hilarious!
Murder Mubarak is a great watch if you’re looking for something entertaining for the weekend. The characters will keep you hooked and give you more than a sneak peek into the elite lives of dilliwaalas.
