Bollywood stars may seem fearless on screen, pulling off some insane stunts, beating up villains, and romancing in the most dramatic ways. But are these celebs so brave off-screen also? Not really. Some of these stars are scared of the most bizarre things in the world. So, if you thought your fear of lizards and clowns was odd, wait until you find out about the phobias of your favourite Bollywood celebrities.

Shah Rukh Khan

The ‘King of Bollywood’ isn’t afraid of anything except horses. The star suffers from equinophobia. SRK also revealed that he faced some issues while shooting for Karan Arjun and Aśoka, as both movies had horse riding scenes. Due to this fear, SRK doesn’t do any horse riding scenes anymore. Instead, a body double is used for such stunts.

Alia Bhatt

Alia Bhatt, Bollywood’s ray of sunshine, is not a fan of darkness. She has nyctophobia, which means she absolutely cannot sleep in a pitch-dark room. So, while we’re out here switching off every light to save electricity, Alia is keeping a tiny night lamp on for dear life.

Katrina Kaif

Remember the Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara Tomatina festival scene? Yeah, that was actual torture for Katrina Kaif, because she has lycopersicoa phobia – a fear of tomatoes. Not only this, but she has also turned down offers to promote ketchup brands.

Vicky Kaushal

This one might surprise you – Vicky Kaushal, who did Bhoot: The Haunted Ship, is scared of ghosts. But we hope shooting for this film helped him get over his fear.

Deepika Padukone

Deepika might play strong and fearless characters on screen, but one thing she absolutely cannot deal with? Snakes. She has ophidiophobia, which is why her team makes sure she never has to do scenes that in any way involve snakes.

Aamir Khan

While most of us are scared of missing deadlines, Aamir Khan is straight-up afraid of dying. He has thanatophobia – an intense fear of death. During the making of Dangal, he was so worried about what would happen to the film if something happened to him that he asked the director to cast another actor if need be.

Fruits are healthy, refreshing, and delicious, right? Not for Abhishek Bachchan. He has a phobia of fruits and claims he’s never eaten one in his entire life because of his fructophobia. He doesn’t drink smoothies or fruit juices either.

Sonam Kapoor

Sonam Kapoor’s fear of elevators is so real that she actively avoids them. She’s claustrophobic, which means she’d rather take the stairs than risk getting stuck in a cramped space. Maybe that’s why she’s so fit.

Ranbir Kapoor

Ranbir Kapoor may be playing action roles without flinching, but cockroaches make him run. They terrify him, and he has developed katsaridaphobia. If he spots one, he’ll probably bolt faster than Milkha Singh.

Arjun Kapoor

Okay, this one’s truly bizarre – Arjun Kapoor is terrified of ceiling fans. So much so that his house doesn’t have a single one.

Kareena Kapoor Khan

Bebo might be the queen of Bollywood, but hand her a bike, and she might just break into a cold sweat. She has a fear of riding bikes, and while shooting Kambakkht Ishq, even when Akshay was driving the bike, the stunt was a challenge for her.
