In a light-hearted and candid conversation with Simi Garewal on her show Rendezvous with Simi Garewal, Mukesh and Nita Ambani opened up about their lives. This was a rare moment because the senior Ambanis don’t really talk about their relationship. Simi Garewal, being her usual self, made the best out of this opportunity and asked Nita about her marriage. When Simi posed the question, “If not Mukesh, who would you go on a date with?” Nita didn’t miss a beat, as if she had known the answer to this question all along. She quickly said former U.S. President Bill Clinton’s name, surprising everyone present, along with her husband Mukesh. 

Nobody was expecting Nita Ambani to be this quick and ready with her answer. But honestly, it was Mukesh Ambani’s cheeky response that stole the show. The business tycoon rarely shows the fun and cheeky side of himself, but Nita’s response sure made him tap into it. After Nita’s eyebrow-raising response, Mukesh laughed and then quickly said to Simi, “Well, if Nita wants to date Clinton, then I’d like to go on a date with you!” This statement sent everybody into a laughter riot, including Simi Garewal and Nita Ambani. 

Nita and Mukesh Ambani got married in a humble ceremony in 1985 after three weeks of courtship. Their love story is also quite unique and will make you go all heart-eyes. It was a chance encounter that brought the two together and eventually led to marriage. Nita and Mukesh’s relationship has stood the test of time and is proof that when two people are willing to put in the effort, relationships do last for a long time.
