Produced by Aditya Chopra, Mardaani is back with its third edition, and so is Rani Mukerji as police officer Shivani Shivaji Roy. The first two movies tackled the cases of sex trafficking, rape, and serial murders of young women. The trailer of Mardaani 3 hinted at a similar plot, promising an equally gritty crime thriller. But is the movie worth watching? Read our review of Mardaani 3 to find out.
Mardaani 3 movie: The plot

The film opens with Shivani Shivaji Roy single-handedly busting a mafia gang running a sex racket. Soon, the plot shifts to the kidnapping of two young girls, Ruhaani, a VIP’s daughter, and Jhilmil, their caretaker’s daughter. What Shivani thinks is a straightforward high-profile case quickly reveals a terrifying child-trafficking business run by a ruthless woman, Amma.
Amma sells babies to beggars who intoxicate them to get money from the public. She also gets teenage girls kidnapped for a sex trafficking business, which later turns out to be an entirely different trade and even more brutal. With pressure from the department, Ruhaani’s parents, and the threat of losing her uniform, Shivani struggles to reach Amma. Will Shivani succeed in saving Ruhaani, Jhilmil, and several other babies and teenage girls from Amma’s vicious web?
Mardaani 3 movie review: A must-watch crime drama

With a brisk pace, Mardaani 3 barely slows down, making sure there is never a dull moment. The film delivers a hard-hitting social message that might also make you a bit uneasy in the end. It perfectly blends intense action with a heavy emotional core, keeping the stakes high and the audience hooked. With a deeply twisted plot, Mardaani 3 will keep you nervously curious for what’s about to happen. The sharp dialogues and the use of Aigiri Nandini in the background score make Mardaani 3 a commendable cinematic experience. It’s a gripping watch that balances heart-pounding moments with a story that really sticks with you, proving the franchise still knows how to deliver.
Mardaani 3 movie: The cast

Rani Mukerji is undoubtedly the star of the movie. Her commanding presence demands attention in every scene. Rani’s dialogue delivery is sharp and powerful, but it’s the fierce look in her eyes during the intense action sequences that really steal the show. With that grit and energy, Rani Mukerji proves that she’s still at the top of her game. While Rani will meet your expectations, the villains of Mardaani 3 are just as impressive as her.
Mallika Prasad, who plays Amma, gives the story a terrifying edge. She delivers a standout performance as the film’s antagonist, making it hard not to appreciate her talent, even as you hate the character. Mardaani 3 also stars Janki Bodiwala, the actor who played Jahnvi in Shaitaan. In Mardaani 3, Janki plays Inspector Fatima, who undergoes a significant character arc. Actor Prajesh Kashyap, who plays Ramanujan, stuns in the movie. He is convincing in his role, using his innocent, nerdy charm to pull off a performance that is much deeper than it appears.
Mardaani 3 is now running in theatres.
Can you watch Mardaani 3 with your family?: No, there are explicit scenes of violence and gore that are not suitable for children.
