The story once again takes you to the gloomy and unsettling lanes of Punjab with another NRI murder. But does the sequel live up to the expectations set by the first season? Read our Kohrra Season 2 review to find out.
Murder in a barn
Living up to its name, Kohrra S2 opens with a foggy morning and a brutal murder in a barn in Dalerpura. The sombre start lays the foundation of what’s about to come next, and you’ll enjoy every bit of what unfolds in the coming episodes. Dhanwant Kaur (Mona Singh) is put in charge of the investigation and is assisted by Amarpal Garundi (Barun Sobti). The victim, Preet Bajwa (Pooja Bhamrrah), is an NRI who had been living at her brother Baljinder Atwal’s (Anuraag Arora) home in Dalerpura. She left her husband, Tarsem, aka Sam (Rannvijay Singha), and two children back in America due to marital issues and had been living in Punjab for the past seven months.

But one cold and foggy morning, Preet is found stabbed in the barn of her brother’s home. The investigation leads to a number of suspects, secrets that everyone has been trying to hide for too long, and some extramarital affairs that have caused a lot of bad blood. The series takes a conflicting turn as Dhanwant and Garundi struggle to solve the case, while dealing with their personal issues. This makes the storyline increasingly gritty and intense.
Kohrra Season 2: Twists and turns
Just like the first season, Kohrra’s second season keeps bringing in suspects that twist and turn the tale around. The police suspects the victim’s husband Sam, to whom Preet owes money, but also Johnny Malang, Preet’s dance partner and boyfriend, who owes money to Preet and is MIA. The list of suspects also includes her brother Baljinder, who was involved in a land dispute with Preet, and even Preet’s nanny, who is having an affair with her husband, Sam. There’s also Karamjot (Deepak Kumar), Baljinder’s brother-in-law, who is making his life hell for betraying his sister and having an extramarital affair. Everyone is suspicious, with each having their own motive to get Preet out of the picture, but you won’t be able to guess the murderer’s identity till the very end.
Effortless performances by a stellar cast

Barun Sobti reprises his role as Garundi and plays it with utter grit and determination, making him the life of the show. Mona Singh as Dhanwant Kaur is brilliant in her role and reminds you of her versatility in every frame. Rannvijay Singha as Sam, the unfaithful husband and desperate father, keeps you on the edge till the end. Devinder Singh, who plays the role of Constable Aujla, is paired with Garundi and keeps the story light-hearted and engaging. Anuraag Arora as Baljinder plays the hothead effortlessly, making you question his every move. Pooja Bhamrrah as Preet Bajwa gives a solid performance along with the supporting cast of Kohrra season 2.
