Popular comedian Kapil Sharma’s special I’m Not Done Yet is out on Netflix. And if you have been waiting for it with bated breath, I’m not sure if it will be worth it. I’m Not Done Yet is an hour-long stand-up special that is mainly scripted around the comedian’s personal life. From his struggling days to establishing himself as one of the most popular comedians in India, the stand-up has it all. But before you hit the play button, read our review of I’m Not Done Yet.

Why couldn’t this be just another episode of Comedy Nights With Kapil?
Kapil Sharma is funny and we all know that. But did he really need a one-hour special for a script and story that could have so easily been another episode of Comedy Nights With Kapil? It was heartfelt as he honours his dad and his wife for being his pillars of strength. And it’s funny when he decides to make fun of his own controversial drunk tweets he directed at the PM. And it was even funny when he narrated a tale of how he gatecrashed Shah Rukh Khan’s party once. But most of I’m Not Done Yet has the exact same vibe of his talk show and seems a bit too stretched with boring jokes.
With not much audience interaction on this special, it looks like Kapil Sharma is struggling to keep us entertained and invested. Venturing into the world of digital platforms and stand-ups is definitely new for the comedian. This inexperience showed in the lack of spontaneity, audience engagement, and hit-and-miss storytelling skills.
Nothing so special about this special
If you are a die-hard fan of Kapil Sharma, you’ll relate to his jokes and his personal affairs. But if you’re just looking for a funny stand-up special, you can skip this one. With the same political jokes and pointless jabs at people who can’t speak English properly, it is the same old Kapil Sharma. And, of course, his trusty band of drummers added the much-needed vibe of Comedy Nights.
I’m Not Done Yet is streaming now on Netflix.
