What Neetu Kapoor revealed about Ranbir-Deepika’s breakup

In an old interview with Simi Garewal on her show India’s Most Desirable, Neetu and Ranbir Kapoor clarified all the assumptions about the breakup. Talking about her son’s relationships, Neetu Kapoor said, “I don’t think he’s had many girlfriends; he’s had just one girlfriend, that’s Deepika.” She further said, “I think maybe there was something missing in their relationship…Everybody has relationships, and they move on. If it was perfect, they wouldn’t break up.” But what did Ranbir Kapoor have to say?

“The new bakra in town”

When Simi asked Ranbir about the rumours in the media of him being a ‘cheater’, Ranbir said, “You know most of the actors are married or in a committed relationship. So, I’m the only one left out. I don’t know, it’s the new bakra in town.” Furthermore, he expressed his resentment about Deepika and Sonam Kapoor making fun of him after the breakup on Karan Johar’s show, Koffee With Karan. Ranbir said, “My first reaction was ‘why’? But then, you know, I take it as good humour…She has some angst against me. I think it would have been more graceful of her if she could have picked up the phone and spoken to me about it rather than speaking on a public platform.” What did Deepika Padukone say that hurt Ranbir Kapoor?

“I think he needs to work on his boyfriend skills”

When Karan Johar asked Sonam Kapoor to share her take on the Deepika-Ranbir breakup, she jokingly said, “Ranbir is a great friend… I’ve known Ranbir all my life. As a boyfriend, I don’t know, she (Deepika) did a great job hanging on to him for so long.” Deepika then clapped and said, “Thank you.” When Karan asked Deepika how she was handling the situation, here’s what she said.

“It could’ve done two things to me. It could’ve crushed me, or I could’ve come out of it. I think I’ve done that beautifully, and I give myself a lot of credit for that. I think he’s a great person… A wonderful friend to have. I think he needs to work on his boyfriend skills,” Deepika said. Additionally, she spoke about Ranbir’s infidelity rumours. Karan Johar asked her, “Recently, you’ve gone on record saying that, ‘My ex cheated on someone,’ and then it was, ‘No, I wasn’t talking about Ranbir.'” To this, Deepika replied, “The clarification wasn’t me.” But she agreed to the first statement.
