As Sakshi’s (Nushrratt Bharuccha) nightmare continues in the sequel, what horrifying secrets will she face? Let’s catch up on everything that’s happened so far.

Sakshi, a heavily pregnant woman who works at an NGO, and her husband, Hemant (Saurabh Goyal), shift to their driver Kajla’s (Rajesh Jais) village after some goons beat up Hemant for not returning their money. At the village, they’re welcomed by Devi (Mita Vashishth), Kajla’s orthodox wife. Leaving Sakshi in her care, Hemant heads off to repay his debts. As Sakshi tries to adjust, she’s drawn to Rani, Devi’s eldest son Rajbir’s wife. Soon, we get to know that Rani lost her baby before birth and had her womb surgically cut open to survive.
Soon, things started getting eerie for Sakshi. She is tormented by three ghostly children and a burnt woman. Devi warns her to keep her distance from them, but Sakshi doesn’t listen. When Hemant finally returns, Sakshi begs him to leave. But that very night, Devi and Kajla perform a disturbing ritual on her and tie her to a bed. Devi claims it’s for Sakshi’s own good – she must stay locked in the room for three days to rid herself of Sunaini, Devi’s ghostly sister-in-law.

What happens at the end of the Chhorii 1?

We learn that Sunaini was once pregnant with a girl, and Devi’s family (Sunaini’s in-laws) demanded she kill the baby in the womb. Sunaini refused, tried to escape, and in the struggle, accidentally killed her husband. The family, believing she was responsible for his death, burnt her alive. She gave birth during the fire, and the newborn was thrown into a well to “bless” the harvest. In a desperate attempt to save her child, Sunaini jumped into the well, followed by Devi’s three sons, who loved her.
Over three hellish days, Sakshi relives Sunaini’s pain and trauma. She is nearly pushed to repeat the same tragic cycle, but she pleads with Sunaini, promising to tell her story. Sunaini lets her live. In a final twist, Hemant is revealed as Rajbir, who had killed his previous wives to keep Sunaini’s story a secret. Rani, his current wife, kills him, Devi, and Kajla to protect Sakshi. Finally, Sakshi walks away freely with Rani.
