The tension is spiking through the roof
Shelly Rungta, the big, bad, and powerful arms dealer is shuffling his aces around and he’s found himself a new CEO. Shaan Sengupta is now promoted to Captain Abhimanyu Mathur, Shelly’s shiny new knight. The season starts with a big arms sale under process and Abhimanyu is in charge of getting things done. This season, you’ll see Shelly’s trustworthy men turning out to be shady, problematic, and suspicious. This sale is held in the middle of nowhere in an Arab country, at Rungta oil fields. And Shelly is all set to display the most dangerous weapons ever made to his guests and clients with a massive firework display. But that’s not the only thing going up in smoke as Shelly is constantly worried about his cover being blown.
The Night Manager 2 is a gripping watch and it holds its ground despite being a remake. There’s a rush in the final episodes to bring the story to a conclusion, but at what cost? Our beloved Shaan has now gone rogue and is working for both Shelly and his handler Lipika. And that’s not the only interesting turn in this season. Because the fierce new Shaan is getting all hot and heavy with his boss’ wife Kaveri but not without caution. Even then, Brijpal aka BJ, Shelly’s childhood friend, is getting suspicious of him by the minute, making it hard to keep things under wraps.
From a snack to the hot and spicy main course
Okay, time for a little honesty. We all know it is an interesting show, but can we all also agree that we have been hooked to it for a rather yummy eye candy? Well, Shaan is no more a side-piece snack who is subtle, charming, and maintains his distance. He is the sizzling main course who is bold and not afraid to go after what he wants. And in this case, he’s got the hots for Kaveri and their chemistry is fire. Thankfully, the makers have also blessed us with some sizzling hot scenes between Shaan and Kaveri that elevate the heat even more.
The cast of The Night Manager is fire
There’s no denying that the cast has really been a strong force in the success of this series. And just like the first set of episodes, the actors have done a praiseworthy job to bring the story to a conclusion. The brazen and hot Aditya holds your attention with effortless ease. Sobhita is equally charming and brings an emotional angle as the abused wife of Shelly. Anil Kapoor carries the big and bad character on his shoulders and deserves all the praise for his performance. His right and left hands, Ravi Behl and Saswata Chatterjee, do really well too. But Tillotama Shome’s portrayal of a heavily pregnant spy fighting inter-office politics and trying to keep the mission under control is one of the best performances of the series.
The Night Manager Part II is now streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
