If the American book adaptation series, Off Campus, has you in a chokehold, you’re not alone. Just like you, I gave in to the hype and started watching it recently, but little did I know I would finish it in one sitting. The series is that addictive! Off Campus follows Hannah (Ella Bright), who strikes an unlikely deal with campus golden boy and hockey captain Garrett Graham (Belmont Cameli). Garret needs help fixing his grades to stay on the team, and Hannah needs a fake boyfriend to win over her crush, Justin Kohl (Josh Heuston), a brooding musician. What starts as a classic fake-dating setup quickly turns into something real and emotionally messy.

The show explores trauma, consent, and toxic relationships, all while letting its characters grow through love and friendship. The male characters are very demure, very mindful. And why wouldn’t they be? They are written by Elle Kennedy, the woman running the romantic drama. The makers have already confirmed the making of the second season. So, if you’re obsessed with the series and are eagerly waiting for Off Campus Season 2, watch these shows to make the wait bearable.

1. My Life With The Walter Boys (2023)

After losing her family, Jackie Howard moves from New York to Colorado and suddenly finds herself living with a house full of the chaotic Walter boys. Caught between broody Cole and sweet, dependable Alex, she navigates grief, belonging, and some sizzling romance. My Life With The Walter Boys is perfect if you like messy love triangles and guessing which pair will be the endgame.

Where to watch: Netflix

2. Finding Her Edge (2026)

Adriana Russo, a former champion figure skater, returns to the ice rink to support her family’s finances and legacy, teaming up with her new partner, Brayden. But Adriana is still not over her ex and first love, Freddie. Similar to Off Campus, the series uses the sports setting to explore a fake dating trope that leads to a beautiful romantic arc. So, if you’re obsessed with Off Campus, you’ll be even more invested in Finding Her Edge.

Where to watch: Netflix

3. Maxton Hall – The World Between Us (2024)

The young adult series follows Ruby Bell, a scholarship student at the elite Maxton Hall private school, trying to stay invisible, focused, and far away from the world of rich kids and their drama. But her plan collapses when she crosses paths with James Beaufort, the arrogant, emotionally guarded heir who’s used to getting everything his way. But the mutual hostility slowly turns into an intense, complicated connection neither of them expected. You’ll love the series for its sharp banter and slow-burn tension.

Where to watch: Amazon Prime Video

4. Heated Rivalry (2025)

It seems that romance set against sports backdrops is clearly the current favourite genre for filmmakers and is winning over audiences as well. Heated Rivalry also follows NHL hockey stars Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov, lifelong rivals who are constantly compared and clash on the ice whenever they meet. But away from the rink, that rivalry sees a secret, deeply complicated relationship that Shane and Ilya can’t fully acknowledge publicly. The series takes a slightly different route, focusing on queer romance to deliver an intense plot.

5. Olympo (2025)

Set in an elite high-performance training centre in Spain, Olympo follows a group of young athletes desperately competing for a career-altering sponsorship. Living in close quarters, the athletes also explore hookup culture, messy situationships, jealousy, and emotionally tangled dynamics alongwith the competition.

Where to watch: Netflix

6. Overcompensating (2025)

Fresh out of high school, Benny Scanlon enters college trying to completely reinvent himself. He’s a former football star, a closeted gay man, who is compelled to navigate the college’s frat culture and dating drama. Under pressure to fit in, Benny also tries to figure out his identity to survive college.

Where to watch: Amazon Prime Video

7. Normal People (2020)

Based on Sally Rooney’s novel, Normal People follows Marianne Sheridan and Connell Waldron, two Irish teenagers. Coming from different social worlds, they keep finding their lives entangled from school in a small town to their time at Trinity College Dublin. What begins as a secret connection evolves into a long, complicated relationship shaped by miscommunication, emotional dependency, and personal growth. You’ll like the raw, intimate storytelling that portrays love in a deeply human, tender, and painfully honest way.
