  • Mostly shows up on the forehead, nose, and upper cheeks.

  • Support hormone imbalance through food: Focus on a balanced diet with healthy fats, fibre-rich foods, and whole foods that help regulate blood sugar and hormones. Avoid having excessive dairy products or sugar. 
  • Manage stress levels: Chronic stress worsens hormonal fluctuations. Try workouts, yoga, walking, or meditation to reduce cortisol. You should also try the analog living trend to cope with burnout, anxiety, and stress.
  • Prioritise sleep: Get at least eight hours of sleep rather than doomscrolling till 3 a.m. Consistent, quality sleep regulates hormones and improves the skin barrier. 
  • Be gentle with skincare: Use gentle cleansers and avoid over-exfoliating as it can cause inflammation and lead to acne. Avoid skincare products with too many actives as they can disrupt your skin’s pH balance.

  • Cleanse your skin regularly: Wash your face twice a day, especially if you sweat a lot or have oily skin. This will remove oil, sweat, and dirt without irritating the skin. If you wear makeup often, use gentle cleansers to remove it.
  • Use clean fabrics: Change your towels and pillowcases often. Avoid synthetic washcloths, including satin, acrylic, or nylon, as they collect oil and bacteria that might cause breakouts.
  • Keep facial pores clear: Exfoliate your skin once or twice a week to prevent clogged pores that lead to acne.
  • Choose breathable skincare and makeup: Use high-quality, less-pigmented, unscented products. Use non-comedogenic, lightweight, oil-free skincare products to prevent clogged pores.
