Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders movie plot

Set in Kanpur, Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders follows an investigation into the brutal massacre of the influential Bansal family. As always, witty Inspector Jatil Yadav (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) is determined to find the culprit. The main characters include monk Geeta Vohra aka Guru Ma, the secretive Meera, and drug addict Aarav. When the massacre occurs, it is clear that Aarav killed everyone in a sudden outburst due to his serious addiction. But there’s more than what meets the eye, or so Jatil believes. So, he continues his search for the truth, but this time, the case is too complicated to point fingers. To top it off, the forensic team, along with the senior officer from Jatil’s jurisdiction, keeps interfering with his investigation. Is Aarav really the culprit everyone makes him out to be? Will Jatil find the last piece to this crime puzzle?
Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders movie review: This whodunnit understood the assignment

What might seem like a predictable plot turns into a twisted crime thriller that you won’t see coming. At times, you’ll feel Jatil is reaching the conclusion you had imagined. And then, he’ll mess with your mind even more, with another equally deserving culprit. Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders takes you on a journey through its characters’ cunning expressions, silences, and half-truths. The movie also blends humour and cute romantic bits to make the plot more engaging. The banter between Jatil and his mother (Ila Arun) is super relatable and hilarious.
But that’s not all about this masterpiece of a crime thriller. The movie uses this genre to comment on power, politics, and privilege that reflect our society’s dark reality. When the film finally reveals its culprit, it uses dialogue that compels you to think about the world you live in. Who decides who gets to live and who does not? Whether you are a hardcore whodunnit enthusiast or not, Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders will keep you engaged throughout.
Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders movie: The cast

Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s sarcastic humour and intentional pauses form the foundation of this film. His character is not a typical Bollywood macho cop, but he makes sure it comes through in his gripping investigations. Radhika, who ruled Raat Akeli Hai alongside Nawazuddin, now shows up in a short yet sweet role as his muse. This edition of Raat Akeli Hai has raised the bar with stalwarts like Deepti Naval and Ila Arun showing the world what it means to actually be an actor. Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders also casts Revathy Asha, Rahaao Bali, Sanjay Kapoor, Priyanka Setia, SM Zaheer, Rajat Kapoor, Akhilendra Mishra, and Shreedhar Dubey, among other notable actors.
Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders is now streaming on Netflix.
Can you watch Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders with your family? The movie does not portray excessive gore, just enough that’s typical of any crime thriller.
