Special Ops Season 1 recap: How it all started
The season begins with a flashback of the 2001 terrorist attack on the Indian Parliament. While five terrorists were killed, RAW officer Himmat Singh believes Ikhlaq Khan, a sixth, unidentified man, fled the scene. Years later, an internal audit team questions Himmat about his unaccounted miscellaneous expenses. Defending his actions, Himmat reveals that he is funding his secret team of RAW agents to search for Ikhlaq Khan, the mastermind behind the lethal attack.

To trace Ikhlaq Khan, Himmat stations five undercover agents across different countries. This team includes:
Farooq Ali, who works closely with Himmat and connects with influential people in Dubai. He strives to infiltrate Ikhlaq’s inner circle to kill him.
Avinash in Baku and Balakrishna in Turkey, who handle the on-ground operations.
Juhi Kashyap in Russia and Ruhani Syed in Iran, who gather leads through diplomatic and personal connections.
Farooq’s plan to reach Ikhlaq Khan

It isn’t easy to reach Ikhlaq, as Farooq must first earn the trust of his close associates. Determined in his mission, Farooq targets Ismail Hassan, Hafiz Khan’s most trusted associate, who in turn is the key to Ikhlaq. Soon enough, Farooq befriends Ismail through calculated manipulation. But Farooq aborts the mission when Hafiz uncovers his true identity and kills one of his team members, Balakrishna, during a confrontation. Hafiz orders Ismail to eliminate Farooq next.
After a series of risky moves, Farooq kills Hafiz in an armed scuffle. But he and his team are still unaware of Ikhlaq’s location. Upon further investigation, Himmat Singh discovers the truth: Hafiz was Ikhlaq Khan all along. However, before dying, Ikhlaq had already set another plan in motion. He planned a suicide attack through his third wife, Sadia Qureshi. She is tasked with carrying an explosive device implanted in her body. Sadia intends to target a high-level political summit in Delhi, India. Fortunately, she backs out at the last moment, and the threat is neutralised.
