2024 was a unique year in entertainment. While we swarmed to the halls to enjoy the re-release of our favourite movies, the film industry managed to flood our watchlist with good and new content too. Here are some of the best movies and series that Team All About Eve watched in 2024.

1. Maamla Legal Hai
This show is a satire that calls out the Indian district courts and leaves you laughing nervously. For Ananya, Maamla Legal Hai has nailed it with its well-timed punchlines, casting, and direction. So, if you’re looking for something to deal with the Monday grumpiness, this web series is a hit.
2. Slow Horses S4
This show stood out as one of the most entertaining thriller comedies of 2024 for Sukhmani. Slow Horses is a British spy thriller adapted from the Slough House book series by Mick Herron. The British intelligence team uncovering the mystery of the world’s smoke and mirrors to defend England makes the series a gripping watch.
3. Laapata Ladies
The majority of Team AAE loved this movie. India’s pick for the Oscars is a work of art in every sense. With the direction, the actors, the dialogues, and the subtle sarcasm, Laapata Ladies felt like a wholesome meal that will leave you yearning for more.
4. Call Me Bae
Call Me Bae‘s riches-to-rags story unexpectedly managed to be among the best shows of 2024. If you want to watch something light and cutesy, this series is for you. Ravnoor and I loved every bit of the series and we think we need more Ananya Panday movies where she just plays herself.
5. One Hundred Years Of Solitude
For Stuti, this series restored her faith in book adaptations and I agree with her. The vintage setting, fabulous acting, and engaging plot were worth every minute. The web series is based on Gabriel García Márquez’s book One Hundred Years of Solitude.
6. Sector 36
This movie had me on the edge of my seat throughout the runtime. Vikrant Massey is always a delight to watch but his craft peaked in this movie. Based on the true story of the 2006 Noida Nithari Case, Sector 36 was one of the best movies I watched this year.
7. The Buckingham Murders
This movie had a British supporting cast with Kareena Kapoor Khan in the lead. The Buckingham Murders was one of the spotlight movies of 2024 for Yusra and Kavya. The heart-pounding thriller about the murder mystery of a 10-year-old boy, the movie simmers slowly to deliver a promising watch.
8. Citadel: Honey Bunny
Yusra loves a good suspense thriller. So, Citadel: Honey Bunny was another series that caught her attention. The part romance and part action genre topped with some humour made the series a spectacular watch.
9. The Fall Guy
Team AAE was big on action-packed thrillers in 2024. Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt’s The Fall Guy was Pravika’s favourite comedy thriller this year. The movie is a must-watch for anyone who loves a combination of genres on the screen.
10. Chamkila
Ravnoor enjoys a good story and Imtiaz Ali’s Chamkila was one such movie for her. “Quite controversial, but I loved the acting and how the story is written. It’s one of those rare movies that you enjoy, just not with family”, she said.
11. Stree 2
This horror comedy has been Vrinda’s favourite since its release in August. The hilarious comic timing, star-studded cast, and intriguing story will leave you in a fit of laughter along with a few jump scares. Stree 2 is a must-watch if you enjoy a well-put satire garnished with horror elements.
