So, how many days has it been since you’ve been stuck at home? I know it feels like a thousand, but it’s a little over 60, right? For me, personally, it’s been about 74 days since my family and I decided that staying home was the most responsible thing to do. Given the current scenario, we voluntarily began social distancing and home quarantining since March 15 this year.
I know that sounds like a miserable amount of time to spend at home. But honestly, I’m okay with it, and I’m willing to do it for as long as it takes. Why add another vehicle to the traffic when you don’t need to, right? Let’s just leave some space on the roads for the Corona warriors and give them some peace during their commute. Yes, many may feel that they can be super careful even if they go out, but trust me, you’re doing a massive service by just staying home.
That being said, if there’s something that makes me chuckle, it’s the fact that there’s at least someone (or something) that’s getting to live all our travel dreams in the middle of a global pandemic.
Heard about that disgusting flying grasshopper?
Yes, the locusts! Parts of India, along with a few other countries, are experiencing a sudden inflow of swarms of locusts, just wandering around and settling wherever they want, like uninvited guests.

What’s worse is that these pests are destroying the hard work of months by damaging crops. Again, like unwanted guests, they are hogging our food apart from causing extreme stress. Authorities have even said that this is a once-in-a-few-decades situation that we’re facing at the hands of these weird, wannabe travel influencers.
Me: are you done?
2020: ever seen a yellow grasshopper that can fly?

No borders, no restrictions, no masks!
Travel plans for 2020 have been put on hold (indefinitely) for millions across the globe. For most of us, the maximum distance travelled this year will be to the local grocery store. So, my question is, how do those struck by wanderlust feel about these tiddees becoming the most well-travelled creatures in the world?

wahan locusts world tour kar rahe— Pranav Sapra (@pranavsapra) May 27, 2020
The locusts in India are crossing state borders faster than you can say, “Gurgaon-Delhi border khula hai kya?” While you’re at home, sharing Instagram memories from your last trip, the tiddees are crossing borders and going international! This is, in fact, one of the busiest travelling months for families because of summer vacations. But, the tiddees, who have done nothing to deserve a vacation, are travelling in packs across borders with zero travel restrictions. Someone put them under lockdown, please!
